A window cleaning request came in from Ditmas Children's. The Brooklyn facility needed its windows done. Then came a second ask. Could the team wear superhero costumes for it?
That one line changed the whole plan.
Ditmas Children's is Brooklyn's only pediatric nursing and rehab center. It's built exclusively for kids with complex medical needs. Many of them spend long stretches looking out a window. Once the team understood that, the job stopped feeling routine.
A simple ask, a fast turnaround
There was no lead time for this one. The request came in, and the answer was yes. We have ordered the most iconic superhero costumes: Superman, Spider-Man, and Flash, all got in and were ready within days. Nobody treated it as casual work. The opposite, really. Once our technician heard who the windows belonged to, getting it right became the point.
Why the costumes mattered more than the cleaning
Cleaning windows is what Top Team does every day. That part wasn't new. What was new was thinking about who's on the other side of the glass. A kid having a hard week. Looking out at brick and air conditioners. Then suddenly seeing Spider-Man and the other heroes instead.
